What a 90-day return rate actually tells you

We track returns at 90 days, not 30, because a lot of gear failures don’t show up until a product has been through a real cold cycle, not just a first trip in mild conditions. A 30-day return window mostly catches sizing complaints; a 90-day window catches the zipper that seizes the first time it actually gets cold.

We’ve killed two products based on 90-day data that looked fine at 30.
