Two teams had already retreated off this route earlier in the season, both citing gear failures in sustained wind above 6,500m rather than the climbing itself. We carried the production Firn Shell and Ridge Line boots on the summit push and logged zero equipment failures across eleven days on the mountain, including three days pinned in a storm at high camp.
