Down is warmer per gram when it’s dry. It’s also the reason more than one climber has had a very bad night after a tent leak. This parka uses a synthetic fill that loses less loft when wet, at a small weight penalty we think is worth paying above 5,000m where drying gear out overnight usually isn’t an option.
